A515 Foyle Bridge on this site |
The A514 Crescent Link connects the A515 Foyle Bridge (and hence the northern half of the city side of Derry) to the main A6 road towards Belfast at Lisnagelvin. Part of the planning approval for the Crescent Link Retail Park in the city was the dualling of the northernmost 1km of the Crescent Link between Caw Roundabout and a roundabout at the new retail park.
The construction of this phase of the project spurred the completion of the A514 dualling with phase 2 undertaken in 2006. See the "new and future road schemes" section for any progress on phase 3. The completion of the dualling is also essential to the proposed A515 Skeoge Link on the cityside of the river, which will be built to dual-carriageway standard. See future road schemes.
